Mediatech Africa – 15-17 July at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg
This is the largest media and entertainment technology trade show for Southern Africa. It’s a platform where professionals involved in broadcasting, film, animation and more get together for three days of networking, updates and new technology. Go have look at all the new trends, top technologies from local and international manufacturers and distributors and meet service providers in the broadcast and film sector.
Tech Expo Africa – 14-15 August at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg
If you love anything tech-related, this is the perfect platform to discover, connect and view the latest gadgets and tech. You can also network with the people behind budding start-ups and discover a range of technological career opportunities. More than this there’ll also be live entertainment and speaker forums, so you can stay up to date on all things tech-related.
rAge Expo – 9-11 October at the Ticketpro Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg
Are you a big gamer? Then rAge is the thing for you – it’s South Africa’s biggest annual computer, gaming, geek and gadget exhibition. Here you’ll be able to you to experience and experiment with products before you buy, and interact with this world in exciting, stimulating and new ways. You’ll get to see the latest in Consoles (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) and PC gaming, computer hardware and software – and everything to do with gaming, including apparel and accessories. You’ll also see local and international game developers, comic books, cosplay and digital lifestyle gear (micro drones, 3D printing and gadgets) and a whole lot more.
Girl Geek Dinners Cape Town – Bi-monthly, Cape Town
This is a female-focused, tech networking supper which takes place every second month. These dinners offer participants a chance to network and listen to a chosen speaker sharing their insights on a specific topic (in the past, themes have included everything from e-commerce and mobile apps to new Google technologies and the difficulties of being both a mother and a IT business women). A start-up challenge was recently launched where 5 female-run start-ups had to present their business ideas to a panel of judges, and the winner enjoyed prizes up to the value of R150 000.
