Career Day
Most kids have dreams of doing great things in life; some want to be doctors, some want to be astronauts, and others want to be captains of industry or leaders of nations, but all need a guiding hand and a step in the right direction.
At Dial Direct we realised that the best way to do this was to expose the youngsters from the Thandulwazi Academy to the corporate environment, something that with our worldwide experience we can do.
Now following the successful Career Day, these children share a common dream ... to work hard at whatever they do.
At Dial Direct we realised that the opportunities for these young men and women of South Africa, to experience a working environment is very important for their future. At the end of the Career Day, the positive influence of the inspirational chats, the visual displays and even the smallest of interactions with the staff, left a lasting impression
The youngsters visited Sales divisions, the Client Services Department, the Claims Department and our Retentions Division, and were on hand to hear our expert sales agents dealing with potential clients.
The youngsters who attend the Saturday classes showed that they are committed to learning and to the future, and we at Dial Direct are more than happy to help them realise their dreams!
What the Thandulwazi learners had to say
"Eight hours of my experience at Dial Direct, so much experienced, so short the time was; but we observed and learned, a day to be remembered" said Lettah Ntlhane on her day with Dial Direct, while Lebogang Mabala learnt to pay attention to detail, and that knowledge is power and listening, a skill.
"The staff at Dial Direct gave me the courage to be a better person when it comes to working with people and choosing a career," she added. "I always thought of work as the most difficult thing I will ever have to do in life, but I was proved wrong. Work can always be fun as long as you do what you love and what you're good at," commented Refentse Selepe.
